Overview
DunyaPause is an offline-first iPhone app that uses Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls technologies to pause apps you choose, invite a short Quran reading, and then grant temporary monitored access. The core product works without creating an account and without analytics.
DunyaPause uses Screen Time features on your device. That is different from saying the app “never accesses” Screen Time. Sensitive Family Controls selections, protected-app identities, Device Activity data, Screen Time totals, Quran content, and reading position are not uploaded to DunyaPause servers.
What stays on your iPhone
- Apps and categories you select for protection (Family Controls selections / protected-app identities)
- Screen Time and Device Activity information used to apply and end temporary access
- Screen Time totals and local usage calculations shown in the app
- Quran text and your reading position
- Local diagnostics kept on-device for troubleshooting
Screen Time permission
DunyaPause requests Screen Time authorization so it can apply protection to the apps you choose and restore temporary access after a reading session (or a short pass). This processing happens on your iPhone using Apple frameworks. We do not receive a list of the apps you selected, and we do not upload Screen Time totals or Device Activity data.
Quran content
Core Arabic Quran content is bundled with the app and available offline. Optional translations may use a separate installation flow. Quran text and reading position are not uploaded to DunyaPause servers.
Optional analytics
The core app does not require analytics. You may optionally enable limited product analytics and/or crash reporting. Both toggles are off by default, independent of each other, and can be changed in Settings.
If you opt in, analytics may include high-level product events such as:
- Onboarding progress and screen views (using allow-listed screen names)
- Whether Screen Time authorization was granted or denied (not why, and not which apps)
- Reading session started / completed / abandoned, and coarse ayat counts for a session
- Whether a temporary access pass grant succeeded or failed (allow-listed result codes only)
- Crash and technical diagnostics when crash sharing is enabled
Optional analytics never include:
- Selected app identities, Family Controls tokens, or app/category names
- Screen Time totals, Device Activity data, or “time saved” metrics
- Quran text, translation text, verse keys, or reading position
- Personal free-text feedback contents, email addresses you type, or diagnostic export contents
Turning analytics off stops future collection. It does not erase data already processed while consent was on.
This website
This marketing site does not include advertising. Optional visit analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) load only after you tap Accept. Until then, and if you decline, no analytics script is loaded on marketing pages.
If you accept, we may record page visits, language, whether you arrived from Instagram or TikTok, which sections you view, FAQ opens, and clicks on the App Store download, Android waitlist, and social links. We do not send waitlist form answers, email addresses, or Quran text through this tracker.
Short download links on this site (for example /go/appstore) record one attribution event for the route used, then send you to the App Store or TestFlight. They do not collect waitlist form answers, email addresses, or Quran text.
Declining does not change how the site works. The Android waitlist form is hosted by Google Forms and follows Google’s terms. You can turn website analytics off later with the button below.
